I do wonder if these actually help people learn clutch control. To me it’s all based on feel.
Fun Fact: The places in the video are where I learned to drive and I learned hill starts on the exact same hill.

I think it’s a balance of feel and sound.
I remember teaching someone who came from a diesel Peugeot to petrol Mini Cooper S. She was used to looking at the rev counter as to when to change gear and I taught her how to listen to the engine for when to change up or down a gear.

Videos usually fall short when trying to educate the viewer on clutch technique. The feel is critical to getting it right.
But one advantage of what video can offer (which the above example fails to employ) is a visualization of what actually happens when you push the pedal. It’s a difficult thing to describe verbally, or via text.

You know what. On my first lesson my instructor got out a super simple diagram of a clutch and asked me to explain. I couldn’t but once I knew it, I felt a lot more confident since I knew stalling was essentially a good thing for the clutch.
